A few days away has its own kind of luxury. Rooted in European heritage and shaped by more than two decades of designing for women who travel, Melissa Odabash approaches the short-haul wardrobe with an instinct for what deserves a place in the suitcase. Black, White and Navy form an elegant foundation, punctuated by Red and the soft gleam of Champagne and Gold.
The Chile Swimsuit and Prague Bikini bring a subtle metallic finish to Champagne, an elegant choice when a few days away promise time by the water. The Navy Pareo and White Pareo take up little room and offer plenty in return, wrapped over swimwear by the pool, tied as a skirt or styled differently as the day unfolds.
Elsewhere, color and texture do the dressing. The Ambra Dress brings a flash of Red, while Daria introduces the light and texture of Gold Knit. In White, the Elena Shirt and Odette Trousers make an elegant lace co-ord, worn together for greater impact or separated with quieter pieces from the Core wardrobe.
Navy comes into its own on travel days. The Ivy Kaftan and relaxed Navy loungewear bring softness and ease to an early flight or the journey home, without losing the polish of the pieces packed alongside them. It is this ability to cross occasions, and sometimes destinations, that makes each style worth taking.
Champagne by the water, White lace for lunch, Red or Gold later on, Navy for the journey home. European in spirit, anchored in luxury and designed to travel well, the Melissa Odabash Short Haul Escapes edit is a study in packing lightly without ever feeling underdressed.
