A city getaway calls for a well-edited suitcase. Melissa Odabash brings the ease of resort dressing into the city through beautifully cut dresses, relaxed tailoring, tactile knits and considered accessories. Each piece is chosen for its ability to go further, crossing easily between day and evening, one city and the next, without feeling tied to a particular moment or destination.
The Ziggy Shirt and Trisha Trousers are cut from embellished fabric that catches the light, giving the Marine co-ord an understated polish by day and something more alluring after dark. Wear the set with flats for an afternoon in the city, then add jewelry and a change of shoes for dinner. In bespoke Retro print, the Ariel Shirt and Annie Shorts can be worn together or separated, giving both pieces more than one reason to make the suitcase.
The same thinking applies to dresses. The new Finola Dress is short and fitted in deep Marine, bringing a sharper silhouette to daytime dressing, while the Tabby Dress introduces the intricate blues of bespoke Jardin print in an easy wrap shape. After dark, the long Jen Dress brings texture through knit and needs little more than jewelry and a favorite pair of sandals.
The Lipari Shoulder Bag and Fedora Hat finish a wardrobe designed around packing lightly and choosing well. More than two decades spent designing for women who travel have shaped Melissa Odabash’s instinct for pieces that feel relevant wherever they are worn. For a few days away, that versatility is the luxury: fewer pieces, beautifully chosen, with somewhere different to wear them each time.
