Cut Out Swimwear is Melissa Odabash's cut-out construction collection, spanning bikinis and one-pieces in premium Italian swim fabric, built around deliberately placed cut-away panels. A cut-out is a piece of fabric deliberately left out, and the skill is in deciding exactly where. Melissa Odabash's Cut Out Swimwear edit spans bikinis and one-pieces built around that single decision, worn for the days when a swimsuit is as much the outfit as anything layered over it, from a beach club lunch to an evening spent barefoot by the water. The halter Surfside Retro Swimsuit brings a large cut-out at the waist with spaghetti straps for support, while the bandeau Cornwall Mazy White Bikini Top and waist-cut Daytona Bronze Swimsuit bring a smaller, more graphic cut-out to a strapless one-piece silhouette, each finished with a tort-bead trim at the center. Cut from premium Italian swim fabric with SPF 50+ protection, every piece resists chlorine and sun oils while holding its shape through repeated wear, so the cut-out stays exactly placed rather than shifting through a day of movement. Each style is finished with an internal bar or trim at the edge of the cut-out, so the shape holds through a swim rather than only while standing still. Style with minimal jewelry and a considered kaftan left open at the front from Beachwear, so the cut-out remains the detail that gets noticed. A well-placed gap in the fabric says more than a print ever could.
